Based in Los Angeles and traveling all the way to Russia, England, and even Dubai, Feline Company has quickly become a global fashion go to of its generation. Sticking to a local all-California designed, sewn, and perfected motto, the Feline team makes each and every item personal. Branching into Harper Louis, a newly created effortless loungewear line, Feline is transforming into a lifestyle brand. Being featured in the Los Angeles Times and awarded the 2016 Women Fashion Award, Feline Co. has the ultimate goal to produce timeless and worthwhile pieces. Welcome to our world of wildcats.
We at Feline Co. are dedicated to our community so we endeavor to avoid outsourcing as well as mass production so you know your piece is one of the very few & special out there! In addition, we like to give back to the things we care about most so in the past, we have contributed to various charities such as the Alzheimer's Disease Research Foundation and the Save the Tiger Fund. Today, we provide $2 from each product sold to No-Kill Cat shelters all over Los Angeles. We look forward to continue to raise awareness and advocate important causes that are really in need of attention. 5 minutes with Director, Vivian Kim
Q: Whats your favorite piece from your line?
A: Definitely the Samantha G-String. It's super fun and sexy and the guys go nuts over them. If you're going out and you want to have a little fun, definitely go for the Samantha set.
Q: Who do you look up to? Who is your icon?
A: I look up to my mom. I literally don't know how she does it but she is quite possibly Wonder Woman. She works day and night 7 days a week..literally. And taking care of a house full of girls like us is already a handful as it is. I have a string of other icons like Kate Moss, Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot and of course Coco Chanel..to name a few.
" At Feline Co., we take a stand for the things we hold dear to our hearts such as animal equality as well as empowering people to do what they love." -Vivian Kim
Growing up in a family surrounded by 3 older sisters, Vivian always had plans to become a designer as well as an owner of her own company. She spent her younger years in South Korea helping out at her mother's local wedding shop and while in her teens, she spent several of her summers at her parents clothing apparel shop in Los Angeles.
Today, Vivian has successfully opened and is running her own clothing line as well as lingerie line for Feline Company! When not at the drawing board creating new designs, you can find Vivian behind the scenes of photoshoots and event holdings where you can see the brand 'come to life'.
Q: Words to live by?
A: "Lack of passion is fatal." and "Know yourself"
Q: If you weren't working in fashion, what would you be doing?
A: My other dream in life was to become an archaeologist. I absolutely love history but more of the ancient type so Ancient Egypt, Rome, etc. So definitely something along the lines of that--not sure how though.
Q: Most important thing you have learned along the way?
A: If you love it, give it all you've got--and so much more. It's not all glitz and glam back here, but at the end of the day, I love what I do and having this incredible support team (my feline fam)--it's all worth it.
Q: What made you finally start your own brand?
A: I don't really know how to describe it other than that I had an epiphany one day. I was sitting in my room after watching some youtube videos and asked myself why I hadn't started chasing my dreams yet.
Q: Why Purr/Feline?
A: I have grown up completely surrounded by animals all my life. Over the course of living in Korea, my family and I probably had 15 dogs in total. Today, I have 4 dogs and would totally love to have some cats as well but highly doubt my dogs would ever let that happen. I chose to evolve to Feline from Purr because my team and I want to cater to a somewhat older audience. I think the word Feline says in itself that it's fierce and we need people with young minds in this world to be just that.
